Matt Thomas is an award-winning content creator, photographer and filmmaker who has a passion for low-cost travel, tech & lifestyle. He’s also a qualified drone pilot and educator and just entered his 10th year as a pro-photographer.
Throughout Matt’s life, he has been immersed in the outdoors, regularly found hiking in mountains of North Wales, UK. Beavers through to Venture Scouts and the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, the outdoors, camping, canoeing, hiking, bushcraft have all played a formative part in his life. In 2011 Matt wild camped and drove an ambulance to Mongolia as part of the mighty Mongol Rally raising money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Matt created Skip and Jump in order to share his family and professional experiences with others with aim to inspire people and families into getting out more, travelling, touring your homelands and creating your own microadventures. Matt is incredibly passionate about capturing life and moments. He lends his experience and knowledge to help people do the same. It’s so easy to get out and do more stuff, it doesn’t have to cost the world either. Skip and Jump aims to help show other like minded folks ways of doing super fun days out and activities, how to go camping in the UK, right through to travelling to New York City with two kids.
Matt loves nerding out with cameras, playing 80’s video games (and new ones too, check out his Twitch stream), heavy metal to synthwave with some Abba chucked in for measure and spending hours watching people make stuff in the woods on YouTube.
